A: Yes! Citra-Shield products work extremely well on Marble Headstones and other grave markers as cleaner and a preventative. Simply follow the directions on the label as if you were applying to any exterior surface.

A: One Gallon of Citra-Shield Ready-To-Use will cover approximately 200 square feet. Citra-Shield concentrate will cover 1000 square feet when mixed 5 parts water to 1 part Citra-Shield and will cover 2000 square feet when mixed 9 parts water to 1 part Citra-Shield. Coverage will vary based on type of sprayer used to apply product.

A: Yes! Citra-Shield will work on all roof surfaces and is approved by several major roofing manufacturers. Citra-Shield safely cleans Clay, Tile, Membrane Roofing, Asphalt and Cedar Shake Roofing.

A: The removal time typically ranges from 20 to 28 weeks, depending on factors such as the amount of rainfall, the severity and type of the stain, and the concentration of the mixture used (ranging from 5:1 to 9:1). Green algae is usually removed the quickest, typically within 1-3 days, while black algae may take significantly longer to disappear.

A: It is all right if you do not get rain for several weeks. Citra-Shield will work with the natural elements to keep cleaning your surface. Even the slightest morning dew will reactivate Citra-Shield. However, Citra-Shield should not be applied in the rain or if rain is in the immediate forecast.

A: Yes. Citra-Shield is very effective on roof moss. However we recommend agitating the moss with a broom prior to applying Citra-Shield. This allow Citra-Shield to fully penetrate the root structure and optimizes removal time. Once moss is cleaned from the surface you can apply a 9:1 ratio (9 parts water 1 part CS) of Citra-Shield to prevent the moss from returning.

A: Yes, Citra-Shield will work on almost any exterior surface. Brick, vinyl siding, stucco, concrete, metal, wood and composite siding/ decking can all be cleaned with Citra-Shield. Simply apply with a pump sprayer and let the proprietary ingredients do the rest.

A: Citra-Shield will continue to clean the surface long after application. And will continue to do so until the stains are completely gone. Citra-Shield will last for up to one year and in some instances longer. Climate and exposure will determine the length of cleaning duration. However an annual preventative application of 9:1 ratio will prevent biological growth from returning.

A: A garden pump sprayer works well for small areas such as patios and decks. For larger surfaces we recommend using our proprietary spray equipment to apply Citra-Shield. For roofs, always apply from the edge of the roof and spray to the top as the surface will become slippery. If you are unfamiliar with heights or ladders we recommend using a contractor and request they use Citra-Shield.

A: No, temperature does not affect Citra-Shield. However, you should apply it when the temperature is above freezing.

A: We recommend 5 parts water to 1 part Citra-Shield concentrate for all initial cleaning applications and 9 parts water to 1 part Citra-Shield concentrate for all preventive applications.

A: No. Citra-Shield is designed to be used as an exterior cleaner and preventative.

A: Citra-Shield is best applied to a dry surface on a day that is above 32 degrees. We do not recommend applying Citra-Shield in the wind as it will reduce the coverage area. Citra-Shield works best when it has 4-6 hours of dry time prior to any rainfall.

A: Avoid spraying directly on plants. Avoid applying Citra-Shield on windy days to maximize product coverage and minimize over-spray onto landscapes. To protect plants we recommend watering surrounding landscapes before and after application. Remember algae grows on plants too.

A: Upon application the reaction between Citra-Shield on the affected areas can change color. Black stains will often turn brown or orange while Green stains might turn brown. This is a good thing. These colors will go away over time along with the stains.
